drummies.

Normal people take drum lessons. I started a software project.

I'm a developer, not a drummer.

I bought an electronic drum kit without knowing how to play it and, for some reason, decided the reasonable way to learn was to build Drummies.

Watch this questionable decision unfold live.

Good things take a few bad takes.

The next experiment is taking shape. Until then, meet the project below.

Drummies / Vol. 001 Scheduled, not guaranteed. Times shown in UTC

Learning drums. Writing code. Building in public. Hitting things. Learning from scratch. Debugging my rhythm.

Less watching. More playing.

Learning an instrument means spending time playing it.

That's where Drummies starts: less time watching from the sidelines, more time practising.

We're starting with drums. The rest comes later.

See you at the next experiment.

Every session is a question I do not know the answer to yet.

An extremely detailed roadmap.

A better way to learn music.

How? We're building it! 👀

  1. Now

    Drums.

    That's all we're saying.

  2. Later

    Guitar? Piano? Voice?

    Maybe.

  3. After that

    Who knows.

Let's learn the first beat first.

Notes from the noise.

The experiments, the discoveries, and the things that definitely went not according to plan.

Nothing written down yet.

Be the first to break it.

We're building Drummies in public. Join the list to be one of the first people to try it — and probably break everything.

No spam. We have enough bugs already.

Early access is on the way.

The waitlist won't spam you. Follow the build log while we get things ready.

One last thing. Do you play drums?
